Advocacy and Free to Run

My story

My career has unfolded across demanding environments where leadership is tested and outcomes are never guaranteed.

As an international human rights lawyer, I’ve worked in some of the world’s most complex and volatile environments, investigating violations of international law and advocating for accountability and protection. As a professional endurance athlete, I’ve pushed my body through extreme physical challenges that demand patience, adaptability, and resilience over the long term. Alongside this, I’ve built and led initiatives — including founding Free to Run — that use sport as a tool for gender equity and social change.

What connects these worlds is a fascination with uncertainty: how people respond when plans unravel, systems fail, or the outcome is no longer guaranteed. Again and again, I’ve seen that endurance — physical, mental, and moral — is not about bravado, but about learning how to stay present, make decisions under pressure, and keep moving forward when the path isn’t clear.

My work today brings these experiences together through speaking, storytelling, and advocacy — exploring leadership, resilience, and equality in moments that test us most.
